This is where I stayed for a couple of nights on this trip, and it was delightful. It’s an old building (19th century) very close to the centre of Ithaca (just a block or so, in fact). By the late 90s it had become very run-down but was rescued by the present inn-keeper, Lynnette Schofield, and her then husband. Presently Lynnette is the sole inn keeper, with the support of her staff.
The Inn just does what it says – bed and breakfast. The breakfasts were lavish and inviting, and other guests seemed to enjoy them greatly. As usual when I stay at these places I think I disappointed my host by just having cereal and toast – I’ve learned from painful experience not to stray too far from my normal diet when on holiday.
Oh, Lynette also leaves out ‘dessert’ in the evening. These usually consist of several plates of little sweet confections, and were all delicious. (I did sample some of these – just for research, you understand.)
Here’s a link to their website.
